Exclusive Routes

• We have exclusive rights to drive into rugged Red Cederberg Nature Reserves on fantastic 4x4 routes.
• This beautiful, uninhabited region is not accessible to the general public and is totally unknown to most regular Cederberg visitors.  
• OUR REGULAR TOURS (± 6 hrs & ±75km round-trip): Hosted by experienced drivers and sought-after field guides from the local community. Depart from Keurbosfontein farmstead.
• OUR CONSERVATION TOUR (± 7 hrs & ±75km round-trip): We also have this very popular tour, hosted by qualified guides. In-depth attention is given to the fauna and flora of this area, its geology, rock art and the history of earlier human habitation, as well as the various research projects in the area.

Permits

• Permit costs for entry into the various reserves: R200 per person.
• R50 of every permit is donated to the Cape Leopard Trust’s Community Project. See www.capeleopard.co.za

Vehicle

• The vehicle seats 10 passengers.
• It has an all-round canvass cover which can be adjusted or removed for open driving.           

Drivers

• Our local drivers are not qualified guides, but they regularly accompany visitors as drivers and field guides to Bakkrans Nature Reserve. Please note that they speak Afrikaans only, but understand a little English.
• If a member of your group will be signing for and driving the vehicle, he/she must be able to supply us with valid documentation to prove that he/she is sufficiently licensed to drive such a vehicle while carrying passengers. A PDP (Public Drivers Permit) is essential.
• PLEASE NOTE: If you plan to drive the vehicle yourself, you will be able to drive the regular routes in the greater Cederberg, but unfortunately will not have access to the 4x4 routes for which we have exclusive rights.

Risk

• All passengers and drivers travelling in this vehicle do so at their own risk entirely and are responsible for their own comprehensive insurance to cover their entire trip in the vehicle.

Bookings

• Bookings must preferably be 5 days in advance, especially for the Conservation Tour.
• Trips are subject to the availability of the vehicle, as well as prevailing weather and road conditions.
• A 50% deposit is required to reserve the vehicle and full payment is required at the start of your trip.
